Ausco Modular provides worker accommodation in Abbot Point

One of Australia's largest providers of modular buildings to the mining and resources industry today announced it has completed a transaction to purchase a 436 room village in Abbot Point; increasing its existing accommodation assets in the Bowen Basin region.

Ausco Modular has been awarded development rights by the Northern Territory Government to provide a solution to the potential housing pressures associated with the impending gas and oil boom within the region.

The Northern Territory Government has awarded Ausco Modular the rights to construct a short-stay accommodation village in Darwin, which will be known as Stayover in Darwin catering up to 270 people in the first construction phase.

Ausco Modular is pleased to announce that it will soon open a new managed accommodation village in New South Wales' Hunter Region, to assist in providing solutions to the growing housing pressures that have recently sparked concern amongst local leaders and residents.

Ausco Modular Managing Director Anthony Walsh said the new Stayover in Muswellbrook, due to open in August, was constructed to provide a solution to the housing problems associated with the expanding resources industry in the district.

Ausco Modular to take the stage when "fly-in, fly-out" inquiry comes to Queensland

Ausco Modular, one of Australia’s largest suppliers of modular accommodation to the mining sector, is scheduled to participate in the public hearings for the Standing Committee on Regional Australia’s inquiry into the ‘fly-in, fly-out (FIFO) and ‘drive-in, drive-out’ (DIDO) workforce practices in regional Australia.

Ausco Modular submitted its recommendation to the inquiry in October 2011 and has been asked to present at the Brisbane public hearing, when the inquiry comes to Queensland, 21st – 24th February.

More employee accommodation is now available in the Darling Downs region with Australia’s largest off-site construction company Ausco Modular launching a new Stayover village just west of Dalby.
The company responded to growing demand from companies in the region to build more accommodation for employees following the successful opening of its Chinchilla Stayover village.

Ausco Modular recognised the Darling Downs region as a hub for the resources and mining industries and decided to further invest in the area by building its latest Stayover village.
