Ausco Modular has helped Chinchilla High School begin NAIDOC week celebrations.

The new chairman of the Goldfields Professionals Network says he wants to use the non-profit organisation to make Kalgoorlie a place where people want to settle down.

Adam Rizzi, business development manager at Ausco Modular, recently became the new chairman of the GPN in February after returning to live in Kalgoorlie.

Having worked in Kalgoorlie, Karratha and Perth, he said Kalgoorlie had the lifestyle he wanted.

"I've kind of taken on the role (as chairman) because I didn't realise how good I had it in Kal until I came back here," Mr Rizzi said.

Townsville construction company Ausco Modular is building bridges to indigenous communities to advance reconciliation.

The company has just hired its first indigenous apprentice and for the past few years has been involved in sponsoring training, sporting and leadership initiatives for the region’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Ausco manufacturing manager Craig Canning said key to the efforts had been the company’s support of the local sporting club the Garbutt Magpies, which organises a Boys Into Men leadership program for indigenous youth.

Brisbane-based company Ausco Modular is getting behind the OzHarvest CEO CookOff for another year with an $8025 donation.

The donation was made by Ausco’s 321 staff members across Australia, who collectively chose to forfeit a part of their individual staff Christmas presents late last year to give back to those in need.

As a result of their generosity, a $25 donation was made on behalf of each Ausco staff member, which will allow OzHarvest to provide over 16,000 meals to the most vulnerable people in Australia.
